About Dr. Francis Teng
Dr. Francis Teng assists patients considered dangerously overweight to gain control over their health, life, and self-esteem through Bariatric Surgery. His depth of surgical expertise enables his patients to choose the best surgical procedure to achieve their desired goals and results. His personal and unique attentive follow-up care aims to sustain the desired weight-loss results.
Dr. Teng, a board-certified General Surgeon (American Board of Surgery), a fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), and a member of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons (ASMBS), is the Medical Director of the Bariatric Surgery Program and past Chief of Surgery at Mountain View Hospital in Las Vegas.
Dr. Teng completed his surgical residency at the renowned Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
He brought his compassion and advanced surgical skills to Las Vegas in 1998. As a trained Minimally-Invasive Laparoscopic Surgeon (MIS), he has performed over 22 years of Advanced Minimally Invasive operations.
He is also a trained Da Vinci Robotic Surgeon who was the first surgeon in the state of Nevada to perform the “Robotic Sleeve Gastrectomy” and the “ Robotic Single-Incision Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy (gallbladder removal).
Dr. Teng has been performing Bariatric Surgical Weight-Loss procedures since 2003. He offers a wide range of surgical procedures including the Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass, Lap-Band, the Sleeve Gastrectomy, as well as revisional weight-loss procedures.
Dr. Teng’s passion for bringing long-term weight loss to morbidly obese patients led him to develop his comprehensive bariatric program in 2003 and instrumental in acquiring the distinction of a nationally recognized “Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence” for Mountain View Hospital in 2006. He strives to provide the safest, comprehensive, and compassionate surgical care to each individual, as exemplified by his excellent “above the national average” surgical patient outcomes.
In his diversity in General and Bariatric Surgery, he also performs numerous MIS Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery procedures including Laparoscopic Hiatal Hernia and Acid Reflux/Heartburn procedures including the LINX (magnetic-sphincter augmentation). Dr. Teng performed the most LINX procedure in the country in 2019 (highest volume implanter). In addition, he also performs Laparoscopic Colon/Intestinal surgery, Laparoscopic Gallbladder removal, Laparoscopic Hernia repairs, and Laparoscopic organ removal including Adrenal/Spleen/Pancreas.
